Variations in OH reactivity towards carbonyls across different sites were observed in the order of Beijiao (BJ, urban, 44 s⁻¹) > Xindian (XD, suburban, 42 s⁻¹) > Tianzhen (TZ, suburban, 16 s⁻¹). Subsequently, this study developed a model for calculating the potential ecological risk index (PERI) of Be and Tl in aquatic systems, and then utilized it to assess the ecological risks associated with Be and Tl in Lake Fuxian, a plateau lake in China. Upon calculation, the toxicity factors for Be and Tl were found to be 40 and 5, respectively. Within the sediments of Lake Fuxian, the beryllium (Be) content varied from 218 to 404 milligrams per kilogram, and the thallium (Tl) content from 0.72 to 0.94 milligrams per kilogram. The spatial distribution patterns reveal Be as more abundant in the eastern and southern sectors, and Tl concentrations peaked near the northern and southern shorelines, aligning with the distribution of human-influenced activities.
